In remembrance

War memorial plaque in Ford parish church

A copper plaque on the south wall of the church with the following inscription:

To the Glory of God and in Proud and Loving
Remembrance of the Men of Ford who gave their lives in the War of 1939 – 1945.
They died that we might live.

Charles Carmichael – Capt. Royal Artillery
James Fisher – Segt. Traffic Control Company
James Stewart – Pte A & S Hs’ Signals
James Harrison – Officers’ Steward Royal Navy

“They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them.”
