Lizard (Eastern water dragon)

Lizard

Continuing the beastie theme, this is a lizard that took an interest in our picnic table at a wildlife park in Queensland a few years ago. Identification is welcome!

Thanks to fellow Geographer Penny Mayes, the lizard is now identified as an Eastern Water Dragon Intellagama lesueurii lesueurii, and I can confirm that it was photographed at the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary in Brisbane. Curiously, Penny’s information linked to this photo taken at the same place.

  1. Thanks for the comment, Paul, and good to see you this evening at the excellent Glasgow Skeptics. I’ve added information to the post because a pal has now identified the animal for me – the photo was taken on a trip to a wildlife sanctuary in Queensland, Australia back in 2007 and the lizard was on our picnic table.
