This week, apart from today and tomorrow when I’m in London, I’m rehearsing with a small community choir to perform at the finale of the Sounding Dunadd programme. Kilmartin Museum have the following information on their events website:
Three Hunters, and a dog called Four Eyes, set off in pursuit of a Magic Monster Bear. Their adventures lead them through the deep, dark woods, and up the icy mountain, to an enchanted place at the edge of the imagination. The story is told in song, music, images and the spoken word.
Come and join us for this stellar event, as the sun sets on the ancient tombs and standing stones of Kilmartin Glen. With songs from the Dunadd Singers, the thunder of the Booma Lena drummers, sparkling artwork by the students of Lochgilphead High School, and the voice of storyteller Bob Pegg. Parking at Lady Glassary Wood car park.
No booking required. The performance will last approximately 45 minutes starting at 5.30pm This is an all-weather event. If it rains bring your waterproofs, and maybe an umbrella!
Community Buffet to follow performance at the Museum Café – bring a savoury or sweet dish to share.
Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information, or call 01546 510278 These events are part funded by Creative Scotland, Museums Galleries Scotland and Scottish Natural Heritage.
The choir have only been together for two days, and already we’re melding into something quite exciting. I’m looking forward to it.
