A small wayside flower photographed this morning close to home. I’ve no idea what it is, so suggestions are welcome.
I was unsatisfied with the suggestion that this was a stitchwort, as a few folk thought. This evening, with the assistance of a specimen of the plant, four books of British flora and three botanists (I don’t include myself), the plant was identified as most likely being an albino Pink Purslane (Claytonia sibirica). Claytonia are included in the family Montiaceae, or blinks.
